Our Mission

To work for and with members of the Sunrise Teachers' Association and the Manitoba Teachers' Society to improve teaching conditions and the standard of education for all students in Sunrise School Division and Manitoba's public schools.

Who We Are

The STA is an organization with over 400 members, working in Sunrise School Division schools in Anola, Beausejour, Dugald, Tyndall, Hazelridge, Lac Du Bonnet, Oakbank, Pine Falls, Powerview, Reynolds, Whitemouth, as well as in a number of Hutterian communities in the region.

The STA is part of the Manitoba Teachers' Society, the professional organization of over 14,000 public schoool teachers in Manitoba. The MTS is Manitoba's 3rd largest labour organization, with standing committees on Collective Bargaining, Professional Development, Education Finance, Workplace Safety & Health, Teacher Education & Certification, Aboriginal Voice and Action, Equity & Social Justice, and Group Benefits.
